The owner
Gary Capron
Gary is a United States Marine Corps veteran with an extensive background in construction.
That background is the reason this company exists in the shape it does. Plenty of people can put a drone in the air and bring back a good-looking photograph. Far fewer have stood on a pad at seven in the morning trying to work out whether the dirt balances, or watched a pay application stall because nobody could prove what had moved.
SkyMap was built to answer those questions specifically. The marketing work — the video, the listings, the arena at night — came along because the aircraft is good at it and people kept asking.
How we work
Four things we hold to.
You get the owner
Gary answers the phone, quotes the job, flies it and delivers it. There is no account manager and no dispatcher between you and the person doing the work.
Flat numbers
We quote the job, not an hourly rate that grows. If the scope genuinely changes we will tell you before we do the work, not after.
Data you can check
We tell you the flight height, the ground control and where the result is weaker. A number handed over without that context is not worth much.
Small jobs welcome
A single pad, one roof, one listing. We would rather do a small job well and be the first call next time.
Veteran owned and operated
What that actually means here.
It is on the logo, so it is worth saying what it means in practice rather than leaving it as a badge.
It means showing up when we said we would. It means telling you the weather has moved the date the moment we know, not the morning of. It means that if a flight did not produce data we are happy with, we say so and go back, rather than quietly delivering something soft.
The Marine Corps is fairly direct about standards. That habit did not go anywhere.
Straight about limits
Two things we are careful to say.
One honest note about the word “surveying.” SkyMap captures and processes aerial survey data — orthomosaics, point clouds, surfaces and volumes. We are not a licensed land surveying firm, and we do not set boundaries or seal plats. Where a job needs a legal boundary or a sealed document, we work alongside your licensed surveyor and hand them data they can work from. Plenty of our clients use us for exactly that.
And on inspections. We document condition — imagery, observations, locations. We do not write engineering opinions, structural certifications or insurance adjustments. What we deliver is meant to be good enough for your engineer, adjuster or roofer to work from.
